Finding My Way Out of the Shadows

I have many complaints against my folks. Since I was fourteen, I have carried the weight of their nuances, those small and large frustrations that shaped my days to more and more adverse. Over the years, the setbacks have grown heavier, and some days it feels as though life has turned into hell.

But I am learning something important: holding on to grievances keeps me tied to the very pain I want to leave behind. So today, I choose to say a quiet prayer. God, please help them, bless them, and guide them to improve. Not because they have earned it, but because peace begins when I stop waiting for them to change.

I don’t want to stay stuck in this story. I want to release what has hurt me, heal at my own pace, and rise stronger. One day soon, I hope to step out of these shadows and shine bright, higher than I ever imagined.
