I first read Every Street Is Paved with Gold back in 1995, and it stayed with me for years. Long ago, I even made a video sharing my thoughts on it.
Now I’m rereading the book, and it feels like meeting an old friend who has somehow changed. The pages are the same, but I’m not. Lines I once skimmed now make me pause and think.
